Indian limited-overs' vice-captain and Mumbai Indians captain recently took to Twitter to pay tribute to his former captain MS Dhoni, who announced his retirement on Saturday, and left everyone shocked as well as surprised.
However, with this, Rohit Sharma has also confirmed the series campaigner of IPL 2020 which is going to take place in the UAE, starting September 19.

While paying the tribute to Dhoni, Rohit Sharma shared a post and tagged MS Dhoni. He wrote, "One of the most influential man in the history of Indian cricketClapping hands sign His impact in & around cricket was massive. He was a man with a vision and a master in knowing how to build a team. Will surely miss him in blue but we have him in yellow. See you on 19th at the toss."
Usually, the defending champions start the series campaigner by taking on the runners-up in the tournament. Rohit Sharma said that he is glad that the World Cup-winning captain will continue to play in the cash-rich league at least for the next couple of years.
The 13th edition of Indian Premier League was earlier slated to take place in March. However, it didn’t take place at that time owing to the global pandemic novel coronavirus. With the postponement of the ICC T20 World Cup this year, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to host the tournament in the UAE instead of India due to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases.
Meanwhile, another India cricketer Suresh Raina has also joined the bandwagon as he also announced his retirement after MS Dhoni. However, both the cricketers will play for Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League.
"Bit shocking but I guess you feel it when you feel it. Good career bro, have a great retirement, still, remember the time when we came into the squad. Best wishes moving forward," Rohit Sharma wrote in another post.
