Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram said that Bangladesh has beaten them convincingly in 1999 during the ICC World Cup at Northampton in England.
Bangladesh have beaten Pakistan by 62 runs in their first victory against any big nation and there was also some talks about Pakistan have forbidden that match as well

Wasim Akram said this during a live video chat with Bangladesh ODI captain Tamim Iqbal where Akram Khan along with Minahajul Abedin and Khaled Masud Pilot was also present.
‘’ In cricketing sense, Bangladesh won fair and square. They played better cricket than us on that day. If I can remember correctly we won the toss and elected to bowl first. The idea for us was to practice chasing game .we were winning matches batting first most of the time,’’ said Akram.
‘’Bangladesh bowled well. There were slow-medium pacers swing the ball all day long and the duke bowl also helped them. It was very disappointing for us as Pakistanis but you have to praise Bangladesh cricket team the way they played that day,’’ he said.
Akram also stated he has got no hesitation in praising the winners after the match that day after Tamim asked him about it
‘’The ideas was to praise the winners as you do not want to be sore losers Praise the team who won against you recently and move on from it,’’ Akram concluded.
