Tamim, Mashrafee regret for failing to raise their standard by 25 percent in WC

Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal and Mashrafee bin Mortaza agreed that despite Shakib’s brilliant World Cup they failed to reach the semi-final as the duo could not lift their standard by 25 percent.
Bangladesh went in t the World Cup with high expectations but failed to materialize that goal as both experienced players Tamim and Mashrafe were out of sorts in the mega event and as a result, they won only two games in the competition.
‘’ If me and you could give our 25 percent then we could have played in semis. We missed the way you bring out the wickets with new balls and secondly I couldn’t make a partnership with Shakib. So if we could play a bit better them we could play semis easily.’’ Tamim told to Mashrafee during the show.
Tamim also feels that he will try to back his players in the future just like Mashrafee did it for him in the past.
‘’Someone once said to you after me getting out that to make sure I was not going to play the next match then you replied if that happens you would resign,’’ said Tamim.
‘’I hope I can say something similar for someone else in future,’’ he said adding that he is quite amazed to see how he backs Mahmudullah. n a Facebook live session with Tamim, Mashrafe the former skipper of Bangladesh expressed his thought about Mahmudullah that he doesn't score run when there is no need but when the team needs someone to score big and to win the match Mahmudullah is the person who knocked an extraordinary innings for the team just like the cricket maestro VVS Laxman.
