Veteran opener Tamim Iqbal feels that Mahmudullah is extremely unfortunate that he didn't get a chance to play in the Indian Premier League [IPL].
In a live session in Instagram arranged by Tamim and joined by Mahmudullah, Tamim discussed how he thinks that a player like Mahmudullah has not been recognized by the franchise of the biggest club tournament in the world.

The left-handed opener said that how Mahmudullah has managed to develop himself as one of the greatest skilled hitting batsman in T20 for Bangladesh in the last three-four years. And he believes a player like him should be picked in the IPL as it's a big stage and everyone wants to play there. Mahmudullah who has been in the shortlist in the last edition's draft along with Mushfiqur Rahim and eight other Bangladeshi players, Mustafizur Rahman and Shakib Al Hasan has been picked by the franchises.
Bangladesh only player Shakib Al Hasan has been a regular in IPL, though Mohammad Ashraful, Masharafe Mortaza, Tamim Iqbal and Mustafizur Rahman has also played except Mustafiz the rest of the players didn't get picked by the franchise for longer period of time.
However, the T20 skipper also expressed his feelings about playing in the prestigious tournament but at the same time also said about not being disappointed and play the regular game.
"Obviously, because IPL is a big stage and everybody looks after it and everybody wants to play there. Because the tournament is so fantastic and I think probably the best franchise tournament in the world. If I had a chance to play there it would have been obviously great for me. Because we all want to play and perform at the highest level. InshaAllah if I get an opportunity to play there then it would feel great to me. There's nothing to be disappointed all we have to do play the way we want," Mahmudullah replying to Tamim's question about his desire to play in the IPL.
