Bangladesh head coach Russell Domingo said on Friday that his charges lacking confidence against one of the top Test nation in the ongoing two-match Test series.
Bangladesh kicked-off their maiden day-night Test in worst possible fashion as they came up with a wretched batting performance yet again to be skittled out for 106 in its first innings against India at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Friday.
The innings came to an end just after the lunch on opening day after India’s pace-trio led by Ishant Sharma tormented Bangladesh in more cruel fashion than the Indore Test.

The tourist batting looked vulnerable all through the Test series and their technical frailties were exposed nakedly against the pace trio of the host.
“Firstly, it was not a 30-over all out wicket. There’s no doubt that we didn’t bat well enough,’’ said Domingo.
“There’s lack of confidence. There’s a lack of experience against this type of attack week in, week out. It is a bit of mental, technical and confidence. We are facing some really world-class bowlers and coming short. We have to deal with a whole host of issues at the moment.
“There was nothing untoward that happened that we didn’t expect,’’ he said adding that the difference between the two sides experience played a big part in the Test series.
‘’There is big difference between the two sides. If you look at the level of performance, there is lot of differences at the moment. Whether it is batting or bowling, it’s something we have to try to catch up. You look at the record of Virat Kohli who has 26 hundred, all our batters made a total 16 to 17 hundred. So we are a long way behind in terms of Test match cricket,’’ he added.
‘’We are playing against a strong Indian bowling side. Their bowling attack is probably a leading bowling attack in the world. They have three experienced pacers –Shami, Ishant and Yadav. They put a lot of sides under pressure. They are disciplined with their pace. If you look at the numbers of the two batting orders, the numbers and experience of their side, they put us in massive pressure,’’ he added.
