Bangladesh batsmen skill against quality fast bowlers will be tested in the two-match Test series opener against India as the Indore wicket might just be ideal for fearsome Indian pace bowlers.

India have dominated on their opponent on the back of Jasprit Bumrah , Mohammed Shami , Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav  as they  have formed a potent combo for the last two years.

Though they are missing Jasprit Bumrah in the series the pace bowling trio will surely eye to make a statement in the Holkar Stadium as they will be inspired with the greenish wicket as the host don't mind playing on pitches that aid the seamers, even at home.

It's no surprise that the pitch at the Holkar Stadium wicket in Indore, the venue of the first Test against Bangladesh on Tuesday, seems to be in the same vein - a competitive wicket where pacers are likely to have enough say.

Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) chief curator Samandar Singh Chauhan has been using red soil for the last four years to prepare these pitches as the red soil wickets offer good bounce and  it helps the pacers and if batsmen apply themselves, it's good for stroke-making.

According to venue officials the wicket also offers turn as the game progresses. It's going to be a good sporting wicket where everyone will get something

Mominul said that they are well aware that the wicket will be sporting with their opponent line pacers taking the bulk of responsibilities but added that they are not thinking it as a threat.

‘’When we play this kind of good pacers we don’t think about it as a threat,’’ Mominul told reporters ahead of the Indore Test on Wednesday.

‘It will be a good challenge and opportunity for everyone. I always think like that. I don’t think it will be a threat. We have to overcome the challenge and enjoy the opportunity,’’ he said.

His counterpart Virat Kohli added that they feel it will suit their pace attack.

‘’Yeah that seems pretty likely[ pacer friendly] looking at the pitch,’’ said Virat adding that he have full confidence on his pace bowlers ability.

‘’Also because of the way Umesh has bowled, Shami obviously has been brilliant. Bumrah isn’t fit yet, Ishant’s probably been our most consistent bowler in the last two years and a big big reason for our success in Test cricket is his ability to just keep bowling in the same area and the others come and pick up wickets. But also he has picked up  4-5 wickets on many occasions when he’s gone through a great spell. So I think his experience will always be handy for the team. And the communication is very clear. We’ve played cricket together since Under-17, so he knows when I go and say something to him it’s purely based on what the team requires. There’s a lot of trust between us,’’ he said

‘’Ishant’s strengths are different - when the ball’s seaming and swinging, he’s right among the top two contenders. I think that trust, that camaraderie, that belief in themselves is pushing this team forward. Because they are the ones in that mindset to get 20 wickets and these are the things that help as well. They step in  and make impactful performances because they are in the frame of mind that they’re just going to help the team,’’ he said
