Ahead of the two Tests series against India, Bangladesh left-handed batsman Shadman Islam feels there is no additional pressure on Bangladesh players and he said with a proper team effort, Bangladesh can win against India at their home in the Test matches.
“We are not taking any additional pressure .we should not take any additional pressure,” Shadman told reporters on Friday.
“We should play our natural game as a team and with everyone support we can win,” Shadman told.
Shadman, who just played 178 runs innings in the on-going National Cricket League- country’s longer version tournament, believes there is no additional pressure on him despite facing the Indian side, as he said he has the experience of facing big teams before.
“India is very strong side. I have nothing to worry about their bowlers. We have played with lot of good teams before” told Shadman.

The 24-year-old left hander batsman was debuted against West Indies back in December, 2018 where he played a 76 runs innings, pairing with Soumya Sarker in opening.
Shadman has played so far seven innings from four Tests, scoring 234 runs for the Tigers with an average of 33.42 as Bangladesh won that longer version match with an innings and 184 runs.
Shadman was last featured in the solitary Test series against Afghanistan back in September. Shadman fell short of 9 runs from his second Test fifty despite the Tigers’ 224 runs defeat.
As Bangladesh will not be playing with their ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan with his two years of suspension, Shadman feels Miraz Mehedi Hasan, Taijul Islam and Mohammad Naim Sheikh can fill Shakib’s void but admitted the great all-rounder’s absence will be felt.
“Of course without Shakib Al Hasan we will feel lot of pressure. But we have Miraz, Naim and Taijul bhai. I think they can cover up for Shakib absence” said Shadman.
Asked whether, he can make it to the Tigers’ eleven for the first match, Shadman sounded positive as he said he will have no problem playing in the first match, which will be the second longer version match in India against them after the one-off Test series on 2017.
“I have no problem in playing first test” told Shadman.
As India is yet to announce their squad for Test series, it is expected from them to have some of their regular bowlers back into their squad after the T20 series, which will surely make the challenges for Tigers’ batsmen.
But Shadman stated that there is no unique plan made regarding their bowlers but they have observed team India’s last series against South Africa.
“There is no such planning of tackling Indian attack. We have seen South Africa played against India recently. We have seen those matches. Obviously we have no extra planning for them and let’s see what happen after going there” Shadman concluded.
Bangladesh will be facing India for their first Test match of the series on November 14 in Indore.
