Indian all-rounder Washington Sundor said that they are confident to clinch the ongoing three-match series against Bangladesh after leveling it convincing manner against the host.
Bangladesh won the opening game but India crawled back in style in the series decider after earning an eight wicket win over Tigers and now looks firm favourites to clinch the series.
‘’Definitely (can win the series). We have just lost one game and that was a close game. If a couple of things went our way in that game we would have won. But I think in this game we won convincingly and we can expect a similar track and boundaries in Nagpur,’’ said Washington.

‘’On that wicket in Delhi we batted first and 150 was good. We could have bowled better after 15 overs. One or two overs there, and a couple of chances if we had taken, things would have been different in the last game only,’’ he said.
‘’It happens in this format. We have seen Bangladesh play on such tracks a lot. If you see in the Bangladesh Premier League, they are used to playing on similar tracks like Delhi. It would have suited them better and they played better cricket that night in Delhi. It can happen to any team in this format. We thought 150 was a very good score on that wicket. If we had done better with a couple of things here and there, we would have won that game as well,’’ he added.
Washington added that the spinners will have a role to play in Nagpur and he is looking forward to the challenge.
‘’Definitely spinners have a role to play in the shortest format. They take the pace off the ball and sometimes pitches can give little assistance as well. It is all about knowing what to do and knowing what the batsman is going to look at hitting (off) you. (It is about) small-small things, obviously to keep things simple and being calm and composed. You will get hit badly in a few games, that happens, but spinners have a very big role in this format,’’ said Washington adding that he is looking forward to see Chahal replicating a similar feat against Bangladesh as he did against the visitors in the series decider that changed the complex of the game.
‘’It is very important to be honest. Especially for someone who can bowl in the middle overs and change the dimension of the game. We have seen him doing that in one-dayers and T20 as well. He comes in the middle overs, takes 2-3 wickets and changes the game completely. He is very experienced in this format and he knows what to do to get wickets in the middle overs. We have seen him being very successful in the powerplays as well,’’ he said.
‘’He is definitely an asset for any team he plays for. The way he changes his pace and he knows what the batsman will try and do and which batsman is going to hit where. Different batsmen will have different plans but he is very clever. He knows what to do; he is very calm and composed,’’ he added.
