Fitness looked to be the focal point for the cricketers ahead of the ongoing National Cricket League, country’s traditional first-class tournament that began across the country from October 10.

Bangladesh Cricket Board looked adamant as far as cricketer’s fitness was concerned and as a result, introduced beep test with a higher marking than the previous year.

Bangladesh cricket has long been suffering to have super fit team like some of the other cricketing nations and have been observed that their players still not able to perform to their fullest for having lack of fitness.

The move of beep test was welcomed by the national players and some players still playing national cricket by not acquiring the required marks are giving a test in between matches to get the required 11 points in the beep test by giving beep test to the national trainers.

According to BCB insiders, Rajshahi players have taken the fitness issue very seriously and in order to remain fit they have also started looking after their nutrition.

The Rajshahi cricketers had asked the local chefs who were looking after their food in the first round of the NCL at Fatullah that oily food will not be served to them in lunch or dinner.

Biryani and Khichuri were completely avoided during the NCL in the Rajshahi camp and it looked they are very serious about avoiding oily food,’’ said BCB officials regarding the new laws that were followed by the Rajshahi cricketers in the NCL.

BCB is trying to bring a culture change in the fitness level and Rajshahi players are always trying to follow the path that will help them to be fitter than their opponents in the field.

Rajshahi skipper Jahurul Islam is very keen on fitness in the domestic circuit and was regarded as one of the main man to bring these food-habit changes in their dressing room.

Pakistan team also recently introduce these stpes recently in their team as Biryani is prohibited during the camp and it looks Rajshahi is taking the same steps.
