Bangladesh's new leg spin prodigy Aminul Islam said on Thursday that he is well aware of being a leg spinner and vowed not to make the mistake that his seniors did earlier.
With Bangladesh’s lack of leg-spin talent, Aminul’s identity as a leg-spinner is understandably what piqued interest among fans. However, Aminul is mainly a middle-order batsman and a part-time leg-spinner, as evidenced by his first-class record. He has bowled in just seven innings in the 19 first-class games so far, while with the bat he has a better record, scoring 515 runs with four fifties

Aminul, who was primarily a batsman and used to bowl occasional leg-spin, credited High-Performance head coach Simon Helmut along with BCB game development Wahidul Gani and current national spin coach Shohel Islam for his development.
‘’Actually, from the start of a career and during my age level, I used to bowl. There is some gap in bowling as I had sustained a shoulder injury during the DPL and I stop bowling,’’ said Aminul.’When I came to HP squad I used to bowl as my shoulder got better and in the HP camp Simon Helmut helped me in my bowling,’’ he said.’Before that I worked with Wahidul Gani and before that I worked with Sohel Sir,’’ he said.

‘’I take advice from both Wahid Sir and Sohel Sir to improve my bowling and try to follow their instruction,’’ he said adding that his mentor Shohel was the first one to prepare him mentally for taking the challenge of international cricket.

‘’After Bangladesh finished the second T20 match Sohel Sir called me and asked me if I know anything and I said no. Then he said you will get some good news. Sabbir bhai [BCB cricket operation manager] called me and congratulated me saying that I have been picked in the national team could not sleep all night for happiness,’’ he said adding that he is ready to make his way out after learning from the experience of the previous leg spinners.

‘’I feel self-control is important,’’ said Aminul when he was asked whether he is aware of the previous leg spinners.
‘’I have seen what previous leg spinner have done and I will try to control myself and improve day by day with the match by match[ rather than trying too many things],’’ he concluded.
