Former England star Kevin Pietersen has branded England's Ashes cult hero Jack Leach as a laughing stock and claimed the spinner could have done more to prevent Australia from retaining the Ashes. 

Pietersen - never short of a strident opinion - believes Leach is becoming something of a joke figure rather than winning matches for his country.

‘’It's doing my head in that a bloke who's supposed to win games for England is becoming a laughing stock. You've got people in the stands taking the mickey out of him, wearing masks and fake glasses. Commentators are talking about his Specsavers deal,’’ ’’ Pietersen was quoted in Betfair.

‘’England are losing an Ashes series and he's only taken eight wickets at 30 in three Test matches.It doesn't look like he's troubled anyone. It just annoys me,’’ he said

Leach went viral during the third Test in Leeds after regularly stopping to wipe his glasses inbetween overs.

And a video emerged of him re-enacting his crucial single - which at the time tied the scores - hours after the match had finished.

Now I'm not saying that you don't do these things.
