Young Rishabh pant became the fastest Indian wicket-keeper to take 50 dismissals in Test cricket surpassing his predecessor Mahendra Singh Dhoni
The 21-year-old wicket-keeper batsman on Sunday claimed his 50th victim in his 11th Test while Dhoni had taken 15 Tests to touch the milestone. Pant took an easy catch to dismiss West Indies' Kraigg Brathwaite off an Ishant Sharma delivery in the second innings of the hosts in the second Test.

In December last year, Pant had equalled the world record for most catches in a Test by a wicket-keeper when he snared 11 Australian batsmen at Adelaide Oval.pant is now also the second-fastest keeper, alongside Adam Gilchrist, to have 50 dismissals. The fastest to the landmark is 10 Tests, by Mark Boucher, Jos Buttler and Tim Paine.
India captain Virat Kohli had also thrown his support behind Pant, saying the team is seeing the Delhi batsman as the 'future'.
"We are looking at Rishabh as the future, definitely. He has got a lot of skill and talent," Kohli had said.
"It is about giving him a bit more space and ease himself into international cricket and not put too much pressure. International cricket you need to tackle pressure differently. He has come a long way since he's started.”
