Coach Mohammad Salauddin has said that they are not finding pacers to bowl with the new ball. He believes to survive in the modern cricket it’s a must to pick up wickets with the new ball.
After the 2015 World Cup, Bangladeshi pacers picked up wickets with the new ball regularly which was the reason behind their success in the big matches. But Bangladeshi pacers have failed to do so in the recently concluded World Cup.

Although left arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman has taken 20 wickets in the World cup, Salauddin believes he is not that useful with the new ball. If the ball gets old, only then his slowers and cutters work. That’s why he urged to find a pacer who will be able to pick up wickets with the new ball.
"We aren’t finding pacers who can bowl well with the new ball. Mustafiz doesn't bowl well with the new ball. When the ball gets old, he becomes effective. We must bowl well with the new ball. It will be difficult to survive if we don't find two good new ball pacers. In every wicket you can’t depend on spinners," said Salauddin in a private TV channel.
In 2019, Bangladesh has only taken seven wickets in the first 10 overs. Their strike rate is 113.14 and they concede103 runs per wicket. Although Mustafiz took 20 wickets in the World Cup, most of his wickets came after 30 overs. He failed to pick up early wickets in the just concluded Sri Lanka series also.
