Bangladesh ace all rounder Shakib Al Hasan has talked about rotation policy few days ago for the players, a thing that top teams have being regularly doing. To keep the players fit and fresh Shakib has advised Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to rest the players when required.

BCB hasn’t thought about rotation policy yet or discussed it. But the chief selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu somewhat agrees with Shakib's plan.

If players play relentless cricket and don't enjoy their cricket then it’s better to rest them, Nannu believes.

"If matches are nonstop or players don’t enjoy their cricket then its better to rest them. When a player feels fatigued or doesn’t enjoy the game then he should take rest on his own," Nannu said.

"Shakib has talked about rotation policy. We haven’t discussed about it yet. A team has matches. To maintain the pipeline matches for the A team are enough. But if players don’t want then that’s another thing," added Nannu.

To keep himself fit, Shakib took rest from the Sri Lanka series. He believes other cricketers should also follow his path. Because, if players play non stop cricket they can be injured or fatigued. For this, their absence in the big matches hurt the team. To prove this, Shakib has given the example of India.

"Last year, Indian players were injured less, Because they followed rotation policy. For this what happened is, many players have come through the pipeline. Many players got recognition, and when their main players came then they were fresh and did well," said Shakib.

On the other hand, BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury believes cricketers can be rested only if there are good enough alternative players.

"Indian Cricket Board doesn't give rest to their whole team. They give rest to some selected players, not too many players. If someone goes to rest, we should have the perfect alternative of him also," said Nizamuddin.
