Former South African pacer Charl Langeveldt who was recently appointed as Bangladesh’s fast bowling coach said his first task will be to solve Bangladesh's struggle to pick up wickets with the new ball.
Langeveldt believes there is no alternative other than being consistent with the new ball to be successful in the World cricket.
"In all formats, you need to be consistent with the new ball. You need to be able to hit your length consistently, and bowl at least four or five balls in the right area from where you will be able to ask questions," Langeveldt said to ESPN Cricinfo.

Langeveldt also gave some valuable advice to Bangladesh's left arm pace bowler Mustafizur Rahman. He believes, Mustafiz needs to learn how to swing the ball rather than only using cutters.
"If you want to be the best, you need to be able to be consistent with the new ball. You have to be consistent with the length. Mustafizur Rahman is good with change of pace but it is hard with the new ball. The wicket is not gripping at times. For me, it is to get the seam position nice and straight. He uses a lot of off cutters into the wicket but for me the key would be able to swing the ball back into the right-handers and take it away from the left-handers," added Langeveldt.
Bangladesh's performance in the World Cup was very poor, specially with the new ball as they could only pick up seven wickets in the World Cup at a strike-rate of 113.14 and bowling average of 105. Mustafiz picked 20 wickets in England but all 20 of his wickets in the World Cup came after the 30th over. And the saga continues as Bangladesh is also struggling with the new ball in the ongoing three-match ODI series in Sri Lanka where they have already lost the series with one match in hand because of poor performance with the bat and ball in the early overs.
