Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal has been appointed as the interim captain of Bangladesh for the three-match ODI series in Sri Lanka and the expectation is high on him as the Tigers look to erase the disappointing World Cup tourney.
But Tamim believes it is not the captain only who makes the team special, rather is the rest of the 10 players who can make captain special.
Regular captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza is not in the series due to a hamstring injury and vice-captain Shakib Al Hasan is not in the series as he is on vacation. All these things paved the way to Tamim captaining Bangladesh.

Tamim will debut as a captain of the Bangladesh team. He has no previous experience of captaining Bangladesh in the ODI format. He only captained Bangladesh once in a Test match.
Tamim wants to establish himself as a good captain by a winning performance from his side in his first match as a captain and he wants to do well together as a team.
"The thing that is important to me is how I start. The things that give satisfaction when the team does well. If we win tomorrow and or team plays well then I will feel special as a captain. I believe if the rest of the 10 players play well then it proves how someone is doing as a captain," said Tamim at the pre-match press conference.
Tamim is not thrilled that he will debut as a captain of Bangladesh rather he wants to fulfill the task that has been assigned to him by the Bangladesh Cricket Board.
"What will happen and what won't happen, it doesn't matter actually. What I did, what I will do, debuting as a captain, I am not really excited about that," said Tamim.
"Other than that, I am looking forward to fulfilling the responsibility that is given to me. Cricket Board has given me this responsibility. I am sure, the players who will play I will try help them as much as I can," added Tamim.
