Bangladesh will lock horns with Sri Lanka in a three-match ODI series at Colombo. The first match of the three-match ODI series will be held on July 26. Bangladesh and Sri Lanka were all set to face each other in the recently concluded World Cup but to everyone's disappointment that match washed out due to rain.  

Once used to beat Bangladesh with quite ease, Sri Lanka’s outright domination was over after 2015. Bangladesh are currently ranked 7 while Sri Lanka sits at 8th position in the ICC ODI rankings.

Now let’s look at some of the interesting stats between these two sides:

1.       Last 10 Matches: Bangladesh won three of their last 10 ODI matches against Sri Lanka. Bangladesh had the final laugh when these two sides met last time at the Asia Cup. Tigers won the match by 137 runs. Bangladesh also won against Sri Lanka in the Tri-Nation series of 2018, they beat the Lankan Lions by 163 runs. In 2017 Bangladesh beat Sri Lanka by 90 runs in Sri Lanka.

2.       Total Matches: If you look at the stats of Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, Bangladesh is far behind in it. They have played a total of 45 ODI matches so far and Sri Lanka won 36 of those and Bangladesh was victorious in just 7 of those matches.  But they are equal in terms of win percentage in ODI’s from 2017, as they have played 6 matches in this period and both have won 3 matches each.

2. In Sri Lanka: In Sri Lanka, Bangladesh played 19 matches. Sri Lanka won 15 matches, Bangladesh won two and two matches were abandoned.  In 2017 Bangladesh won by 90 runs and in 2013 Bangladesh won the match by three wickets.  

3.       Overall most runs: Former Sri Lankan wicket-keeper batsman Kumar Sangakkara has the highest runs against Bangladesh. He scored 1206 runs against the Tigers with an average of 48.24 runs. For Bangladesh Tamim Iqbal has scored most runs against Sri Lanka, he has 645 runs against them with an average of 33.94. Mushfiqur Rahim has the highest individual score against Sri Lanka, he scored 144 runs against them in 2018
