Bangladesh’s off-spinner Mehedy Hasan believes they will need the lady luck on their side to beat India considering they have lost on few occasions despite coming close against them.
In the recent past, Bangladesh lost to India in the Nidahas trophy when Dinesh Karthik hit a six in the last ball to clinch the championship.
Bangladesh lost to India by just one run due to Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah’s horrendous decision making during the ICC T20 World in 2016 at their own backyard.
Mehedy feels Tigers were unlucky on both occasions and as a result could not cross the final hurdle but believe if that is not the case than they might have different result against India when they take on them in their next World Cup fixture on June 2.

“The matches we have played against India, we lost in a close contest. I would say luck wasn’t our side,’’ said Mehedy.
‘’If luck is with us this time, we will win the match, “ he said.
Mehedy said that that they confident considering their recent form and added they are not interested to lose their sleep thinking too much about their opponent.
“Of course India is a tough opponent. They are playing dominating cricket and good cricket. But nevertheless we are taking no such pressure. If we play our natural game we will do well, “said Mehedy.
‘’Everyone is confident while every member of the team is in good shape because team is playing well,’’ he said.
‘’Shakib bhai is dominating everyone. Highest run getter with the bat. He is also taking wickets in bowling. Mushfiq bhai and Riad bhai ( Mahmudullah ) is playing well. Tamim bhai has also played some good innings,’’ he said. ‘’Liton Das has played a marvelous innings while among the juniors me along with Saifuddin, Mustafiz and Mosaddek are trying to give our hundred percent,’’ he said. ‘’We are trying to connect through our efforts,’’ he concluded.
Bangladesh will play India on July 2 at Edgbaston and it’s a must-win game for Tigers if they want to secure their place in the semifinal.
On the other hand, India is well on course to make their way into the semifinal they need just two wins from four matches.
