Bangladeshi opener Tamim Iqbal has expressed his disappointment on his getting out early after being set. Tamim has been the pillar of Bangladesh batting since the 2015 World Cup. But his performance in this World Cup is not up to that standard. He has scored 16 runs, 24 runs and 19 runs so far in the first three matches of this World Cup.
In his Career, Tamim has got out 27 times between 30 to 49 runs. He has an average of 40 runs in this range but didn’t convert this start into big innings. Tamim is also feeling the heat because of this, getting out after being set matters more to him than getting out early. For recovering from this hole, Tamim Iqbal has also put up extra work in the training session ahead of Sri Lanka match.

“ I have my own way of batting. See, if I had gone out at the start of the innings in the first three matches, I wouldn’t have thought about it so much. But in the last three matches, I got out after getting set in the wicket. It usually doesn’t happen to me.” Tamim said.
Tamim is disappointed for not starting the World Cup at a high note; he is also disappointed that he failed to fulfill the expectation of the people of Bangladesh. And he is feeling extra pressure because of this.
“I couldn’t start this World Cup on a high. I am feeling the pressure, I won't deny that. The people of my country expect a lot from me.” He added.
“To perform well, I have worked so hard. Maybe I worked very hard. But everything doesn’t go according to plan always. In that case, I have to accept that. Everything isn’t over here. I have played a lot of cricket. I hope I will manage this pressure. “ Tamim concluded.
Tamim has scored 46 fifties in his career and he has an average of 35.66 runs. He is the highest run scorer for Bangladesh up until this point.
