Bangladesh will face Sri Lanka on Tuesday in a crucial match at Bristol. But the Bangladesh camp is in a spot of bother as their main player Shakib Al Hasan is uncertain in this match because of an injury.
Shakib got a strain in his thigh while batting against England. He is still feeling pain on that spot and he didn’t bowl or bat in the practice session today.
For this Shakib is uncertain against Sri Lanka encounter. Shakib has gone through a scan regarding this injury. The report hasn’t been filed yet, after getting the report final decision will be made. Bangladesh’s main selector Habibul Bashar Sumon has commented on Shakib’s injury.
“Shakib has gone through a scan. He got injured in the England match. His injury is on the Glutes. His chance of playing against Sri Lanka is fifty-fifty.”

Physio Thihan Chandramohan said in a statement: “Shakib suffered a left thigh strain while batting during the match against England. He underwent a precautionary scan today in Bristol. We are waiting for a specialist assessment and report.”
Shakib has been the only consistent performer for Bangladesh in this World Cup. He has scored 75, 64 and 121 runs so far in this tournament. He is the highest run-getter in this tournament until this point. Shakib has been consistent with the ball too as he picked up three crucial wickets in the first 3 matches.
The number one ODI all-rounder has been a true inspiration for Bangladesh in this World Cup. So, his injury is a big concern for the Bangladesh team. Bangladesh is on the back foot at this moment as they lost two back to back matches against New Zealand and England. Sri Lanka match is a must win game for them, if Shakib doesn’t play against Sri Lanka Bangladesh will surely miss this World class all-rounder.
