Bangladesh can heave a sigh of relief as injured wicket-keeper Mushfiqur Rahim is all set to return in the third Test against New Zealand.
Already stuttered by injuries to Shakib Al Hasan and Taskin Ahmed, Bangladesh received a further blow as they missed the service of one of their most compact Test batsman Mushfiqur Rahim in the Test series so far.
The importance of him in the middle order was exposed on more than once as none in the middle-order could come up with the composure that the wicket-keeper batsman brings along with him middle in Test matches.
Mushfiqur rib injury resurfaced during the second ODI, making him doubtful for the third ODI, in which he went on to feature despite scans revealing a broken rib.

Mushfiqur also sustained two more injuries during the ongoing tour: a side strain and a wrist injury, and according to team management it was his wrist injury that forced him out of the Tigers playing XI in the opening two Test matches of the three-match Test series.
Mushfiqur tried to make a last attempt to see whether he could be available for the second Test but found out there was still some soreness there was still a little bit of soreness in that ligament area when he tried to bat with cricket ball ahead of the Test match.
Team manager Khaled Mashud told Cricfrenzy that they are confident that he will be back in the last Test as he did not feel any pain during the batting session in the last two days where he faced throw downs at a good pace.
“I think he will be available for the last Test,’’ said Mashud. He batted in the nets for during the last days against throw-downs and did not look like he was struggling like the way he did when he began it earlier,’’ he said.
“We can make a call on him tomorrow but in all likelihood, he is expected to be available unless any other complication arises,’’ he said.
Mashud added that they are also confident that Tamim Iqbal will also be available for the last Test as he did not complain about anything after the match as he the southpaw featured in the Wellington Test despite carrying few niggles.
“He [Tamim] did not complain and it looked he was fine,’’ said Mashud. New Zealand clinched the two-match Test series as the handed innings defeat to the visitors on both occasions.
