Aussies clean swept India in T20 series

Glenn Maxwell knocked a marvellous 113* off 55, which is his third T20 ton, handed Australia the T20 series win, beating the hosts by 7-wicket-win over India in the second T20 on Wednesday in Bengaluru.
Earlier, Australia started their India tour with a thrilling 3-wicket-win over the hosts in the first T20I in Visakhapatnam on Sunday. Glenn Maxwell's 56 and Pat Cummins’ last-ball-finish helped Aussies chasing the target of 127 set by India. With this win, the visitors whitewashed India in the two-match T20 series. And the hosts lost T20 series in the home after three years. The last was against South Africa 2-0 on 2015-16.
However, in the second ODI, India posted 190 for 4 after getting the invitation to batting first from Aussies skipper Aaron Finch. India captain Virat Kohli hit an unbeaten 72 off 38-ball including 6 sixes and 2 fours after a solid start by Lokesh Rahul (47) and Shikhar Dhawan (14).
But, Indian top order stumbled when they lost 3 crucial wickets of Rahul, Dhawan and Rishabh Pant (1) at 74. However, Captain Kholi along with the veteran MS Dhoni took the charge of the field adding 100-run in fourth-wicket-stand. Dhoni hit 40 off 23 before his departure. Kholi and Dinesh Karthik (8) was not unbeaten and the hosts finally scored 190 for 4 within 20 overs.

In reply, the visitors lost Marcus Stoinis (7) at a total of 13. They were in trouble after losing Aaron Finch for 8. Australia were 22 for 2. But D Arcy Short and Glenn Maxwell took the command and added 73 runs in the third-wicket-stand that stabled Aussies. However, D Arcy scored 40 off 28 and dismissed. But Maxwell remained unbeaten with Peter Handscomb, added unbroken 99-run-stand at the end.
Maxwell hit 113 off 55 including 9 sixes and 7 fours while Handscomb was not out for 20 off 18. However, the teams will now play a five-match ODI series, starting in Hyderabad on Saturday.
