Gayle touches new mark off 500-six, 10000-ODI-run

Chris Gayle touched a landmark of 500-sixers including 300 sixes in all format of cricket and 10,000 runs in ODIs during the fourth ODI against England in Grenada on Wednesday. He already knocks his second ton of the series in the ongoing game and still unbeaten at 108* including 10 sixes and 7 fours.
Earlier, the ‘Universe Boss’ made a record of the most ODIs sixes, in the first ODI of this ongoing series against England in Barbados on Thursday. He surpassed Pakistan’s Shahid Afridi record of the most ODIs sixes.
According to the stats, Afridi hit 476 sixes in 524 matches while Gayle hit 501* sixes in his 446* matches and achieved the top spot of the list of most sixes. New Zealand’s Brendon Mccullum is in the third spot with 398 sixes, followed by Sanath Jayasuriya (352) and Rohit Sharma (349).

However, the hosts are chasing the massive target of 419 as the visitors set a record score of 418 for 6. Jos Buttler and skipper Eoin Morgan tons put England to score the highest total in West Indies. They also made another record of the most number of Sixes, 24, in an ODI inning. Buttler smashed 150 off 77 while Morgan, who passed 6000-run-mark in ODI, hit 103 for 88.
