BKSP beat Prime Doleshwar in Super Over, Abahani start with win

Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan (BKSP) defeated Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club by two runs in super over while the Abahani Limited made a good beating Brothers Union Club by 25 runs in the two separate matches of the ongoing Dhaka Premier League (DPL) T20 on Monday.
The two matches took place in two different venues- BKSP and Prime Doleshwar locked their horns at the Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah while Abahani took on Brothers at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.

BKSP vs Prime Doleshwar
After winning the toss, Prime Doleshwar opted to bat first. But, they got an early blow after losing lost two wickets for five. But the middle continued their struggle and Prime Doleshwar finally posted 111 for nine in 20 overs. Mahmudul Hasan knocked the highest score 41 for Doleswar. Among the others, Mohammad Arafat scored 29 and Taibur Rahman made 17. The pacer Sumon Khan picked up 3 for 18 and Mukidul Islam took 2 for 38.
In Chasing 112, BKSP suffered batting collapse as lost their four wickets for 16 runs. Shamim Hossain’s 45 and Akbar Ali’s 42 lifted BKSP to set 111 all out. The match was tied and went into Super Over where BKSP won the match by two runs. However, the Pacer Manik Khan grabbed a hat-trick in his T20 debut, two wickets in the last two balls of the first over and another one in the first ball of his second over.
Abahani vs Brothers Union
In the day’s another match, Abahani posted 150 for 7 against Brothers Union. Abahani got an early blow, losing two wickets in seven runs. But it was Sabbir Rahman who took the charge striking 58* and made 52-run partnership along with captain Mosaddek Hossain Saikat (23) in the third-wicket-stand. After Mosaddek’s departure, Sabbir along with Jahid Javed added 58 in their fourth-wicket-stand. Javed scored 44. Mehedi Hasan and Rony Hossain claimed two wickets each for Brothers.
In reply of the fighting target 151, Brothers scored 125 for 7 in 20 overs. Yasir Ali scored 41 for Brothers while Mizanur Rahman added 30 and Sharifullah 31. Nazmul Islam Apu claimed three for 26 while Sabbir Rahman picked up two for 16.
