Shinepukur, Sk Jamal clinch win in openers

Shinepukur Cricket Club and Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club separately won their Dhaka Premier League (DPL) T20 openers today.
All-rounder Shuvagata Hom struck 32 off 10 that helped Shinepukur to secure their 5-wicket-victory over Legends of Rupganj that took place at the Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium (KSOAS) in Fatullah. In another match, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club beat Khelaghar Samaj Kalyan Samity by 11 runs at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.
Shinepukur vs Rupganj
The match between Shinepukur and Rupganj delayed due to rain and was reduced to 13 overs each side. After winning the toss Shinepukur restricted Rupganj at 115 for 5 in 13 overs. Shahriar Nafees knocked 46 off 24 deliveries for his side. Sujon Hawladar took 2/23.
In reply, Shinepukur scored 117 for 5 within 12.3 overs. Despite a good start, Shinepukur lost a few quick wickets that built pressure on the batsmen. But Shuvagata rescued his team and handed Shinepukur the win with a brilliant knock of 32 off 10. Mohammad Shahid took 1/29.
Sk Jamal vs Khelaghar
In another match, Khelaghar invited Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club to bat first, skipper Nurul Hasan knocked 43 runs that posted a challenging total of 169 for 5 for the team. Moinul Islam picked up 2 for 26.
In chasing of 170, Khelaghar Samaj Kalyan Samity eventually lost their wickets and being restricted within 158 for 5, though the opener Robiul Islam Robi knocked a brilliant-69-run.
