Bangladesh head coach Steve Rhodes is happy to see young guys coming up and taking the responsibility during the two-match Test series against West Indies.
The Tigers decided to hand off-spinner Nayeem Hasan a debut in the opening Test against West Indies, before giving a Test cap to left-handed opener Shadman Islam during the second Test.
Bangladesh scripted a historic series-win against West Indies as they won the two-match Test series by clear margin to prove their dominance at home.

Both the newcomers played a pivotal role in the series as Nayeem picked a five-wicket haul in Chittagong while Shadman made a fifty on debut in Dhaka.
According to the Englishman, the achievement of these young guys seemed to be the highlight of the series as it also proved that the Tigers are not thoroughly depended on the experienced stars.
“It’s always whenever we win people talk about the stars,” Rhodes told reporters. “But we got two remarkable debutant with Shadman’s resilience at the crease as he showed what he did in the practice game and in the Test match as well and h hopefully that’s the start of many.”
“Nayeem’s five wicket haul in Chattogram was outstanding and he has backed that in the game and maybe he didn’t pick up wickets [in the second innings] but he certainly bowled brilliantly.
“He is a very capable fielder and also with the bat and he is certainly got a big future,” he said.
Bangladesh spinners bagged 15 wickets across two sessions that helped them complete the annihilation with an exceptional victory by an innings and 184 runs to clinch the series by enforcing follow-on for the first time in their Test history.
Young Mehidy Hasan was the wrecker in chief with his 12-wicket haul in the second Test.
