Bangladesh have announced a 15-member squad for the ACC Emerging Asia Cup, scheduled to start on December 6. All of their group-stage matches will be played in Pakistan.
Wicketkeeper-batsman Nurul Hasan will lead the Bangladesh team and Mosaddek Hossain will be his deputy.
Nurul said: “Captaincy is nothing new to me. I have taken the role before in national league (NCL), BCL, and premier league (DPL). And as a wicketkeeper I already have to take additional responsibilities such as setting the field and doing other things.
“The squad is good. How we perform will matter now.

“Sometimes I have to be out of the [national] team for the sake of team-combination. I don’t think much about it, otherwise it’ll hamper my game. My main goal is to perform wherever I get the chance, be it in the national team or in the domestic circuit.”
Mohor Sheikh, Yasir Ali, Tanvir Islam, and Shafiul Islam have been named in the squad alongside other members who were part of the Bangladesh A team during their tour of Ireland earlier this year.
Bangladesh have been placed alongside Pakistan, Hong Kong and the UAE in group B. They will face the UAE on the opening day of the tournament, before taking on Hong Kong and Pakistan on 7 and 9 December, respectively.
Group A comprises India, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Oman. The Group A matches will be hosted by Sri Lanka.
The top two teams from each group will play in the semi-final.
The semi-final and the final match of the tournament will be held in Sri Lanka on 13 and 15 December, respectively.
