South Zone still lacking momentum

Shamsur belted a ton against South Zone

||Desk Report||
After suffering defeat in the first round, Prime Bank South Zone failed to impress yet again, as Islami Bank East Zone have laid the foundation for a big score on the first day of the second round in Bangladesh Cricket League.
Winnings the toss, South Zone elected to field first. Abdur Razzak earned them a breakthrough by removing Rony Talukder for 53, putting an end to a 92-run opening stand. The same bowler struck twice in the second session, as Zakir Hasan and Mahmudul Hasan could not manage to make their mark.

Another opener, Shamsur Rahman, kept frustrating the opponents at the other end and put up a fine 153-run knock before finally getting out by Fazle Mahmud in the evening session.
South Zone’s pace-bowling trio of Rubel Hossain, Shafiul Islam, and Al-Amin Hossain failed to cause any trouble to the opponents throughout the whole day, as East Zone registered 314 runs for four wickets before the umpires called stumps.
Tasamul Haque (47*) and Yasir Ali (26*) will resume the innings for East Zone on the second day. They still have the likes of Afif Hossain, Mohammad Saifuddin, and Farhad Reza in the lineup, who can inflict more damage to the Razzak-led men.
