Bangladesh batsman Mominul Haque warned his teammates that the second Test against West Indies would completely new game for them and they need to improve in all departments if they want to keep the momentum going.
“We have to start our second Test anew. We will play to win the second Test. We will try to overcome the inadequacies and improve in batting, bowling, and fielding,” he said on Wednesday after Bangladesh’s practice session at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

Apart from top-order batting, what would haunt Bangladesh much is their catching woes, an arena which Mominul said they need to improve to prevent West Indies from coming back into the match strongly.
“Everyone has worked on their fielding individually. Let’s see what happens in the field. We are trying to overcome it (missing catches). We’ll try to improve in that area in the next match, especially in the close-in areas,” he said.
With Imrul Kayes ruled out of the Test following his shoulder pain, Bangladesh are all set to go with the fourth opening partnership in Tests this year, with Shadman Islam all but sure to make his debut. But what is now perennial problem is the top-order collapse and question raised whether a newbie could resist this. If Shadman fails, the pressure will on Mominul as a No. 3 batsman to which Mominul remained upbeat.
“First things is I don’t know whether he (Shadman) would play. That’s up to the team management. When you play cricket, there will always be some pressure. I always try to overcome it and keep it simple,” said Mominul.
