Bangladesh chief selector Minhajul Abedin said that even if they don’t get the services of Tamim Iqbal for the second and final Test against West Indies, they are confident to get the left-hander from the start of the three-match ODI series.
Bangladesh received an injury scare as Tamim Iqbal suffered a side strain during a practice session at the academy premises on Tuesday (November 13). The incident can be touted as a huge blow considering the opener was eyeing to make a comeback in the series against West Indies, nearly two months after injuring his wrist during the opening game in the Asia Cup.

“We did not get the update about Tamim from the physio. Even if he is not available for the second Test we are hopeful to get him from the beginning of the three-match series opener,” said Minhajul
Tamim has been going through a rehabilitation program since being ruled out of the Asia Cup. He also missed the home-series against Zimbabwe, before his fresh injury and fitness concerns kept him from appearing in the first Test against West Indies.
The southpaw has been in stellar form this year in ODIs, scoring 541 runs in nine matches, which includes two tons and four fifties, at an average of 90.16.
