East Zone in safe position before final day

||Desk Report||
The Bangladesh Cricket League clash between BCB North Zone and Islami Bank East Zone seems to be heading for a draw as the latter failed to impress with the ball on the third day, after posting 445 runs in the first innings.
North Zone were reeling at 125/4 at the end of the second day’s play. Resuming the innings alongside Yasir Ali on day-three, Tasamul Haque could not contribute much and was out for 37 runs.

Yasir then shared a 114-run partnership with Mohammad Saifuddin, before the latter finally avoided the follow-on threat along with skipper Farhad Reza. Yasir's innings of 94 runs was laced with 13 fours and an over-boundary and Saifuddin hit two sixes and eight fours to reach 64 runs.
Reza also belted a half-century and remained unbeaten on 55 runs at stumps. He and Enamul Haque Jnr will resume their unbroken 63-run stand on the fourth day, with 65 runs remaining for the team to take a lead.
Subhasis Roy and Ziaur Rahman scalped one wicket each on the third day while Ebadat Hossain took his tally of wickets to three. However, they failed to capitalize on the good start that they had on the previous day.
