West Indies happy to be back in the groove

Although the game is in parity at the moment, West Indies appeared to be the happier side as they sensed a victory what was a distant dream when they were wrapped up for 246, conceding a 78-run first innings lead.
The Caribbean side fought their way back into the game by reducing Bangladesh to 55/5, which gave them the hope to dismiss the hosts cheaply on day-three and get themselves in winning position.
“I think it puts us in a good stead,” said West Indies wicket-keeper batsman Shane Dowrich who made fighting 63 not out. “Obviously, we didn’t bat as well as we would like, but we still put up a good fight, me and Hetmyer put up a good partnership. Obviously those quick wickets put us back in it. Once we get the five wickets in the morning, we’ll be in with a shout.”
Dowrich stressed the needs to go with positive intent as the pitch was deteriorating every passing minute.

“It’s pretty difficult, the pitch is spinning a lot, inconsistent bounce, I think [it’s more than trying to defend] to be able to survive we have to be positive, we can’t really [just stay away all opportunities to strike].”
West Indies could have conceded bigger lead had Shane Dowrich not resisted alongside Shimron Hetmyer with a 92-run partnership after the side was reeling at 88-5. Hetmyer blasted 47 ball-63, hitting five fours and four sixes.
“I think we complement each other. Obviously he is a very aggressive player, I told him to be selective and (play his shots) and that allowed me to just rotate the strike and get him on. And once I got in it was easier for me to score,” Dowrich remarked.
“I think everyone has their style of playing on different wickets, but it worked for us today.”
The wicketkeeper-batsman also saw the end of the game inside three days.
“It’s a possibility, depends how well we go in the morning. Fair enough, if we get early wickets then yeah, we finish tomorrow,” he said.
If West Indies manage to win this game, they will be able to keep the trend of not losing any Test match to the hosts on Bangladeshi soil.
