No point to prove to Hathurusingha, says Mominul

Batsman Mominul Haque said on Thursday that his hard time during the tenure of former head coach Chandika Hathurusingha made him wiser.
The form of Mominul after the departure of Hathurusingha is nothing short of being phenomenal as he scored four centuries during the first four years of his career that was largely dominated by the Sri Lankan in the dressing room while he scored four centuries after Hathurusingha left the post of Bangladesh head coach.

It all began when he hit a century against Sri Lanka at Chittagong against Sri Lanka after Hathurusingha joined his country of birth as their national head coach and apart from the tour of West Indies, Mominul batted quite consistently.
The rift between Mominul and Hathurusingha came to light after he was excluded from the opening Test against Australia before later included due to the pressure of the high-up.
The left handed batsman was dropped from the opening Test but more humiliation awaited as he was demoted down to number eight in the following Test.
“There was nothing to show or to prove. Maybe that was good for me – people encounter small struggles in life and it is up to what you can learn from that struggle.
“I never thought of it in the way that I have a point to prove to Hathurusingha. At the end of the day I am the one who has to perform on the field and play for the Bangladesh team. I think about trying to play good cricket,” he said.
