Tigers win the toss, opt to bat against WI in 1st Test

Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan won the toss and elected to bat first in the first of the two-match Test series against West Indies on Thursday.
The hosts handed a debut to off-spinner Nayeem who would form a four-pronged spin attack alongside Shakib, left-arm spinner Taijul Islam and off-spinner Mehidy Hasan.
Bangladesh’s strategy to field four spinners made it clear what type of wicket it is going to be.
Soumya Sarkar, who played his last Test against South Africa in last year made a comeback.

Regular captain Shakib also returned to the fold after missing the Test series against Zimbabwe.
Opener Liton Das, all-rounder Ariful Hoque and fast bowler Khaled Ahmed who were the part of the team in the recent Test against Zimbabwe made the way for these three players.
Opener Kraigg Brathwaite leads the West Indies side as Jason Holder was ruled out of the series following a shoulder injury.
Fast bowler Kemar Roach replaced Holder, who was clearly the side’s best bowler in this year and also gave a huge flexibility in batting.
