The highlight of the players’ draft for the fourth edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) was Steve Smith and AB de Villiers getting picked by the Sixth Team and Lahore Qalandars, respectively. The draft was held in Islamabad on Tuesday (November 20).

The Sixth Team, formerly known as Multan Sultans, also roped in Shahid Afridi, who played for Karachi Kings last season.

Each team were allowed to have up to 10 members in the squad during the trade and retention window which ended on November 13. While most of the teams retained their preferred cricketers, three of the franchises also traded five players between them.

Quetta Gladiators gave up their Diamond round pick to the Sixth Team as Sohail Tanvir left the latter to join the Gladiators.

Lahore Qalanadars, on the other hand, traded Sunil Narine and Umar Akmal to Quetta Gladiators with Rahat Ali and Hassan Khan. Lahore will take Quetta’s first round Platinum pick and Quetta will get Lahore’s Silver round pick in the second round during the draft.

Each team have made their 16-man squad, with a maximum of five foreign players in the blend.
