West Indies fielding coach Nic Pothas has been appointed as the interim head coach of the team for their current tour of Bangladesh. The former head coach, Stuart Law, left the team following their tour of India, since he was named as the new head coach of English county Middlesex.
“Having Nic lead the team at this juncture is important for continuity and we look forward to strong and positive performances from the squad under his leadership,” West Indies’ director of Cricket Jimmy Adams said in a statement.

Pothas had previously performed the role of an interim head coach during his stint with Sri Lanka as fielding coach. Under his stewardship, following the departure of Graham Ford, Sri Lanka lost an ODI series to Zimbabwe, but ended Pakistan's winning streak in Tests at their home base in the UAE .
The former South Africa cricketer joined West Indies earlier this year, after prematurely ending his two-year contract with Sri Lanka Cricket.
“It is an honor to be asked to be the head coach of the West Indies cricket team for the immediate future.
“The Bangladesh series will be a tough challenge which we look forward to embracing,” Pothas said.
West Indies will play two Tests, three ODIs and as many T20Is against Bangladesh in their month-long tour. The first Test will start on November 22, in Chattogram.
