Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) officials confirmed on Sunday that their participation in the upcoming ACC Emerging Cup depends upon the approval of the government.
The announcement had come hours before ACC published a schedule of the tournament on their official website where Bangladesh are placed in Group B along with Pakistan, Hong Kong, and the United Arab Emirates.
The tournament will be held in Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, India, and Oman, who are placed in Group A, will play their part of the group phase in Colombo while teams who are placed in Group B will play their games in Karachi.

According to the schedule, Bangladesh will take on the UAE in their first match, on December 6 at SG Ground.
“We are waiting for the government approval,” BCB media committee chairman Jalal Yunus told Cricfrenzy on Sunday. “If we get that then we will take part in the tournament.”
Jalal said that they are well aware of the security concern and once they are satisfied they will fly to Pakistan. According to him, if the team is sent that will be only for the greater interest of the cricket.
“We will only send the team once we are satisfied with the security plan but everything will depend on our government’s green signal,” said Jalal.
“If we fly to Pakistan it will be due to the greater interest of cricket.”
Initially the tournament was scheduled to be hosted by Pakistan in last April but it was altered as BCCI refused to send its team to the Asia Emerging Nations Cup scheduled in Pakistan.
Since India was not willing to send its team to Pakistan, the Asia Emerging Nations Cup was co-hosted by Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
