By hitting a pair of centuries (110 and 106 not out), Brendan Taylor became the first Zimbabwe batsman to do so in foreign condition. It was his second twin centuries in a Test, having achieved this feat earlier in 2013, also against Bangladesh with a knock of 171 and 102 not out.

He is however the third Zimbabwe batsman to hit centuries in both innings after Flower Brothers (Andy and Grant). And in doing so, he hit his 16th century, emulating Andy Flower, considered as the finest batsman the country has ever produced.

“A world class performance from a world class player there in Brendan Taylor in this game,” Zimbabwe captain Hamilton Masakadza showered praise on Taylor.
“He really showed the way of how to bat in these conditions. That was really impressive from him, the way he batted in both innings.”

He also had no reservation to heap praise on his bowlers also as they did an excellent job to keep Zimbabwe aloft over Bangladesh, when no one predicted the visitors’ chance in the series.

“Kyle Jarvis also bowled really well. Even in Sylhet, Tendai Chatara. The seamers have got us wickets early in every game, and the spinners came into it in the first match with Brandon, my brother and Sikander bowling really well,” he said.

“It’s been a good all round team performance from everyone, and the biggest thing for every single player is that everyone has contributed something to the team in every single game. That will give the guys confidence going forward.”
