Mehidy delighted to have executed the plans

Bangladesh off-spinner Mehidy Hasan is delighted to see all their plans coming close to fruition as they need only eight wickets of Zimbabwe on the final day to level the series and avoid a humiliating series defeat at the hands of the African side.
Zimbabwe finished the fourth day’s play on 76/2, needing 367 more runs on the final day. But looking at the form of the Bangladesh spinners – Taijul Islam and Mehidy Hasan – it would be a monumental task for the visitors.

“We lost a few quick wickets which put us in the back-foot. [Mahmudullah] Riyad bhai, Mithun bhai made a good partnership which increased our lead. We had a thought of 400 plus lead to be on the safe side.
“We thought that if we gave them four sessions to play that would be enough for us. We had a planning and it had been executed well” he said.
The Tigers, who lost the first Test by 151 runs in Sylhet, were in a desperate situation to win the second Test in order to level the two-match series, but their decision of batting in the second innings could be defined as their lack of ability to pull off a successful chase in the fourth innings.
