Zimbabwe get the mantra to tackle Taijul!

Zimbabwe looked confident to deal with Taijul Islam who, with his left-arm spin, continued tormenting them throughout the series.
The visitors’ coach Lalchand Rajput urged his batsmen to trust on their defense and make sure to play as close to the ball as possible. According to Rajput, it could be an effective recipe to minimize his threat.

“Taijul has been taking a lot of wickets, but if you look at his wickets, they were not the balls which were turning. It’s mostly the balls which are coming in,” he said, decoding Taijul’s strategy.
“We’ve talked about it, and on the last day some odd balls are turning, but we’ve got to play one ball at a time. Don’t think about the ball if one ball is jumping, just make sure that you play as close to the ball as possible. If you do that, you minimize his turn, and you minimize his in-coming ball as well. Trust your defense and try to bat as close to the ball as possible.
“In the first innings, the guys that got out to him - Raza played the wrong line, it didn’t do much the ball pitched on off stump and hit off stump, Sean Williams went back, so it was just an error of judgment. In the second innings, we need better judgment.”
Rajput also advised his players to go with positive mindset.
“In cricket you cannot say percentage-wise. I always believe you have to be positive. The first session will be very crucial. If we play the first session, then it becomes easier for the next two,” he said.
