Bangladesh hit back after Mominul ton

Bangladesh batsmen finally showed what they are capable of if they could demonstrate the required calmness.
Mominul Haque and Mushfiqur led the recovery as Bangladesh seized the control of the Test by reaching 207-3 at tea on the opening day of the second test on Sunday at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
Mominul’s 115 not out was complemented by Mushfiqur Rahim’s unbeaten 71 as the duo combined for an undefeated 181-run for the fourth wicket, helping the side recover from 26-3.
They kept the Zimbabwe bowlers frustrated throughout the whole lunch session, piling the host of misery on the visitors.

Mominul Haque survived on 9 but as he set in the crease he played crispy shot around the wicket, hitting 14 fours.
Rahim struck five fours in a knock in which he demonstrated a sheer calmness.
In doing so, the duo took the control over. Earlier, Zimbabwe bowlers capitalized on some reckless shot selection by Bangladesh's top order to leave them in tricky situation.
Fast bowlers Kyle Jarvis and Donald Tiripano rattled through the host's top order in the first hour of Sunday morning after Bangladesh captain Mahmudullah won the toss and chose to bat first.
Jarvis (2-40) made the first breakthrough in the seventh over, dismissing opener Imrul Kayes for no score after the batsman got an inside edge to offer a catch behind the wicket.
The host's then compounded their poor start when other opener Liton Das (9) played a loose shot and chipped straight to mid-wicket off Jarvis's next over.
Tiripano (1-22) then got the better of debutant Mohammad Mithun (0) who offered a catch to first slip chasing a wide delivery.
But the effort of Mominul and Mushfiqur kept Bangladesh safe by the second interval of the day.
