Pressure on Bangladesh gives Zimbabwe an edge

With Bangladesh in the eerily pressurized situation, Zimbabwe want to capitalize on it to end their 17-year wait of winning an away Test series. The Southern African nation has not won a Test series anywhere in the world since their victory against in a one-off Test series home against Bangladesh in 2011.
Their last away series victory was also against Bangladesh in 2001.
“The performance in the first Test gives us a lot of confidence. And going into the game ahead, it is always good for the team. We know that they (Bangladesh) will be under little bit of pressure and there will be more pressures I agree. So I am definitely very confident for this match,” Zimbabwe skipper Hamilton Maskadza said yesterday during the pre-match conference.

“It will be huge for the team if we manage to win the series. We haven’t won a series in recent past and didn’t win too many games so it will be really boost for the team if they come with a win here.”
Zimbabwe however expected a wounded Bangladesh but did little care.
“I am very positive about that. They will be hungry and they will come harder against us. They are a very proud team and very good team. We expect a very tough battle. We expect them to come very hard to try to level the series. But we are also prepared to give them a good game,” Masakadza remarked.
“We obviously came here looking for a result. If we get a result then it will be great for us.”
Masakadza stressed upon the requirements of taking 20 wickets in their bid to win the series.
“In a Test match, the most important thing is trying to take 20 wickets. And the same thing will be applied here. We will try to bowl them out here also,” he said.
