Since making his debut in 2015, Mustafizur Rahman has been able to feature in only 10 Test matches as fitness concerns and injuries kept him out of the squad mostly. He last played in a Test match when Sri Lanka were touring Bangladesh earlier this year and missed the Tigers’ last series against West Indies.

The left-handed pacer sustained an elbow injury during Bangladesh’s first ODI against Zimbabwe and had to be sidelined during the third and final ODI. However, he is now fit to play in the upcoming Test series.

Mustafizur will make his return in red-ball cricket in the first Test between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe. The Sylhet International Cricket Stadium will be making its debut with the same match and there have been enough speculations about how the wicket is going to be.

The pacer, however, does not seem concerned about the wicket and understands that he has to perform irrespective of the wicket’s nature or behavior.

“I do not have any objection regardless of how the wicket is. Be it spin-friendly or pace-friendly, I have to play well. When the goal is to play well, what’s the point of worrying about the wicket?” he said.

Mustafizur bowled in five Tests at home, picking up 15 wickets and playing on the wickets that offer generous turn and favors spin-bowlers, that certainly a good record to have for a fast-bowler.
