The Bangladesh Premier League began on the wrong foot as BPL governing council changed their decision within a night after announcing it.

Wicket-keeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim was allocated to Chittagong Vikings for the upcoming edition of the tournament though the BPL governing council provided a BPL players list on Saturday where Mushfiqur was slated in A+ category.

According to the BPL officials he failed to come into terms with Chittagong Vikings, the only team left without any A+ category player.

The allocation of Mushfiq to Chittagong though saved BPL from getting into another controversy as prior to the tournament each team were supposed to have one A+category player.

A+ category is the reintroduced version of 'icon cricketers' for the upcoming edition. Liton Das and Mustafizur Rahman had been added to this category alongside Mashrafe Mortaza, Shakib Al Hasan, Tamim Iqbal,
