Former Bangladesh skipper Mohammad Ashraful has been included in the players’ draft for the upcoming edition of the Bangladesh Premier League announced by Bangladesh Cricket Board on Saturday.
The draft will mark the return of Ashraful, who was put in B category with a price tag of Tk 18 lakh, after his five-year ban for match-fixing in the second edition of the tournament ended in March.

Each team has six players in their squad ahead of the draft. In all, each team can sign a maximum of 12 local and nine overseas players. Every side must include four overseas players in their playing eleven this season.
During the last edition of BPL there were lot of criticism regarding five foreign players in the playing eleven as it was believed to be a major hurdle for the locals to shine in the lone T20 extravaganza.
BPL organizers took the criticism close to their heart and it probably prompted them to change the rule that suggest there will be four foreign cricketers and seven local in the playing eleven.
Ashraful, who was touted as the biggest thing in Bangladesh cricket, was slapped with a five-year ban from all forms of cricket following his involvement in match-fixing and spot-fixing in the 2013 edition of the cash-rich affair.
Having served his time off the field, Ashraful is now raring to make a comeback and represent his country again.
