Former Pakistan captain and coach, Waqar Younis, feels that the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) has earned enough the trust of the cricketing fraternity. Though BPL had some payment issues at its early stage, the organizers overcame it through a stricter management policy.
BPL has come a long way, having its fair share of controversies like the match-fixing scandal in 2013. However, stars like David Warner are joining the tournament now, which proves that the acceptance of this competition has been evolving worldwide.

“The confidence of the cricketers and the related personnel towards the BPL is increasing at the international level. That's why everyone is increasingly interested in the BPL. Many big stars are trying to play in the BPL for this,” Waqar said.
Younis, who was the mentor of Sylhet Sixers last season, penned a two-year coaching deal with the team ahead of the upcoming season. The Sylhet-based franchise looks all set for the sixth edition of the BPL as they have already signed three players apart from retaining three of their team members from the last season.
Sylhet Sixers have not been able to win any title in the last five editions of the BPL and by roping in players specialists like Warner and Sandeep Lamichhane, the side is certainly showing their determination to lift the trophy this time.
