Bangladesh Cricket Board said on Monday that they are yet to make a decision regarding Shakib Al Hasan's participation in the upcoming UAE T20X - a franchise-based T20 event - slated to be played between December 19 and January 11.

Shakib, who is undergoing a rehabilitation program for his injured finger that forced him out of action for three months including the ongoing series against Zimbabwe, had applied for a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) to BCB cricket operation recently.

BCB media committee chairman Jalal Yunus confirmed the receipt of such an application and said the board is yet to take a decision.

"He had sent NOC for approval to take part in the franchise-based T20 tournament in UAE and we will notify him about our stance within a day or two," BCB media committee chairman Jalal Yunus was quoted in Cricbuzz.

According to BCB sources, Shakib is likely to be denied NOC as far as his participation in UAE is concerned as the board is reportedly not interested to take any risk with him, considering the status of his injury.

The injury had first ruled him out during the Asia Cup, while also making him unavailable for the home series against Zimbabwe, and, in all probability, the Windies.

Shakib told Cricbuzz that he applied for the NOC so that he can have all his options open. "I want to be fit as quickly as possible. I want to keep all my options open so that I can avail the first opportunity that comes my way. I would like to play against Zimbabwe in the Test series but if that is not the case, then there is series against West Indies, then the tournament in UAE that I applied for or say BPL or the tour of New Zealand," Shakib said.

"I want to keep all my options open so applied for it so that I can start playing at the earliest after regain my full fitness. There is nothing more to it," he added
