The Bangladesh Cricket Board announced on Sunday that they have launched the Regional Cricket Academy, a step forward towards fulfilling their pledge of decentralizing cricket in the country by forming a Regional Cricket Association (RCA).
This is a step to brush aside all the doubts over the formation of RCA as there were apprehensions on whether it will be possible or not with the prevailing mindset of the stakeholders.

RCA is considered to be the way out towards decentralizing cricket in the country while Regional Cricket Academy is considered to be the first step towards that goal.
“In a bid to provide structured, long-term specialized skill training for talented cricketers of under-16 and under-18 age levels, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has launched its Regional Cricket Academy initiative,” BCB said through an official email on Sunday.
Accordingly, a Talent Hunt Program under Sylhet Regional Cricket Academy kicked off today (Sunday, 21 October 2018) in Sunamganj. Similar talent scouting under specialized coaches and trainers of the BCB is also scheduled at Habiganj District Stadium on October 22, Sylhet District Stadium on October 29, and Old College Field in Moulvibazar on October 30.
Specialized training for the selected players starts from November 3 under Sylhet Regional Cricket Academy.
