Bangladesh survived a huge scare as Mahmudullah remained unscratched despite getting injured in the nets on Saturday.
With Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal already ruled out and several cricketers nursing their niggles, a severe injury to Mahmudullah, expected to lead the Test side, would have a serious impact on Tigers in the upcoming series against Zimbabwe.
The incident took place when Mahmudullah was batting at the Mirpur indoor and hit his toe with the ball while trying to hit a throw down from veteran coach Mohammad Salahuddin.

It created somewhat panic in the indoor but did not last longer as the all-rounder got hold of him and soon and declared it wasn’t anything severe.
However, it was enough for the to-be Test captain to end his batting session prematurely.
“Hopefully I will be fine by tomorrow and will be able to bat in the nets,” Mahmudullah told Cricfrenzy while leaving the indoor premises.
Bangladesh have been hit hard by a series of injury concerns with other senior stars like Tamim Iqbal and Mushfiqur Rahim also joining the treatment table. Tamim is nursing his injured hand that he hurt during the opening game of the Asia Cup while Mushfiqur is recovering from a rib injury. Mahmudullah himself is recovering from a back injury but has insisted that he expects to be fine before the start of the series.
Mahmudullah sustained the injury during the tour of West Indies and later took part in the Caribbean Premier League and Asia Cup, where he is understood to have aggravated the problem forcing him to take complete rest at present.
