We have enough players: BCB chief selector

Bangladesh chief selector Minhajul Abedin is confident that the current structure will help them to get suitable alternatives despite losing two of their key players to injuries.
The Tigers dealt a huge blow as injuries forced Shakib al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal out of action. Shakib is currently in Australia and has been ruled out for the next three months due to finger injury while Tamim is going through a rehabilitation program for the wrist injury that he sustained at the beginning of the Asia Cup.

Tamim’s absence caused much trouble for the Bangladesh team as tyro Nazmul Hossain failed to perform at his position. The Tigers later opted for Imrul Kayes and Soumya Sarkar to replace Tamim although none of the two got to bat at the opening slot. Bangladesh eventually made Mehidy Hasan open the batting innings in the Asia Cup final, a move that somewhat paid off.
“As two of our key players – Tamim and Shakib – are seriously injured, we have prepared our team keeping their unavailability in mind.
“We will not get injured players but, being a Test-playing nation, we have enough players. We’ve first-class cricket. Our system has become stronger than it used to be in the past.
“Looking at the squad we have proposed, hopefully we will do well in this series,” said Minhajul.
Bangladesh will host Zimbabwe for three ODIs and two Tests between October 21 and November 15.
